Nintendo has officially unveiled the release date and price for Super Mario Run, its first Mario game on iPhone. You’ll be able to download it, and play a few levels, for free on December 15. But that’s just for a tiny taste. If you want to play the entire game, it’ll cost $9.99, via an in-app purchase. However, Nintendo says this is the only in-app purchase you’ll ever have to make, and it won’t hit Mario players up for more cash later.
Super Mario Run will launch simultaneously in 151 different countries, Nintendo says. While the game, in which Mario runs automatically and the player controls his jumps by tapping the screen, is exclusive to the iPhone this year, Nintendo says it will release it on Android in 2017.
